Sundays are for Writing #18

I had another good writing week! Three days, two 10-minute sessions each day, for a little over 2,250 words.

I know that’s chump change to my old daily word counts, but I’m happy with the consistency.

I also outlined five scenes and completed two writing lessons, so I hit all my writing goals for the week!

I had a good writing week. I got all my words, but I changed my sessions just a bit to accommodate my schedule:  three sessions on Tuesday, one after work on Wednesday, and two on Saturday.

I also outlined five scenes and did two writing lessons this week, so I hit all my writing goals!

I’ll admit I had grand plans for this week: two 1,250-word writing days, writing lessons completed, scenes outlined…

Well, some of that happened.

I did get about 1,500 words written. And Five scenes outlined (Thanks, friend, for the motivation on Tuesday!). Then my motivation got up and left on Thursday, in favor of prepping for my Friday road trip/Saturday trail race (it’s SPRING in Texas, yet the forecast calls for highs of 40, 100% chance of rain, chance of snow, and 20mph wind). Fun times.

That’s okay. It’s still progress.

Not only did I get in three writing days this week—a bit over my goal of 2,250 words—but I also finished up two lessons in HTWAN! So I hit both goals for the week!

Writing-wise, I’m still wandering, as I have only a bare idea of plot, but my goal for this week—in addition to word count—is to outline five scenes (sentence per scene), so I have some idea where I’m going. I know from experience that I wander when I don’t outline, so it’s time to correct that.

Words. No wandering.

Sundays are for Writing #13

This week was crazy busy. Seriously. But, I still got in two writing days!

About 1,500 words of fiction this week. (Ah…10,000-word days are such a fond/unbelievable memory now. Thank you, NaNo!). I also wrote five book reviews this week (three of those were written and scheduled on Thursday, before I left for my conference.)

For accountability purposes:  in addition to three writing days this week (or 2,200 words), my goal is also to get two lessons done in HTWAN, because I am woefully behind.

How was everyone else’s writing this week?

Sundays are for Writing #12

Confession time:  I think I only wrote about 600 words this week. Yep. Two 10-minute sessions and that’s it.

But…at least it’s writing. And I did do academic writing. Like…two decently long discussion board posts, and a 5-page paper that kind of made me want to bang my head on my desk. And three book reviews. So, at least there was writing.

Here’s to a better week.

Anyone else getting any writing done?

Sundays are for Writing #11

I got in two and a half writing sessions this week. I say “half” because I only did one 10-minute session Saturday before all my motivation gave up and wandered away.

Still, three solid writing days, and writing for 11 weeks in a row! I’m very happy about the accountability posting this weekly is giving me, which is quite motivational. (Maybe I should start posting my weekly workouts, too, lol.)

How has the writing been going for everyone else?

Sundays are for Writing #10

Ten weeks. I’ve done some writing every week for ten weeks!

That’s a huge victory for me. I used to write all the time, but the last six years have been sporadic at best. Writing fiction has become a habit again, along with writing articles for class and honing those skills.

At least 750 words three days this week, which is my goal. Yay!

Sundays are for Writing #9

I have written every week this year. That doesn’t sound like much, I know, but for someone who hasn’t written with any regularity for longer than a week or two in like six years, it’s major.

Only two writing days, but the words flowed well. Thursday, I got almost a thousand words in 20 minutes!

Sundays are for Writing #8

I didn’t get a lot of writing done this week. Basically only Thursday, and somewhere a bit less than a thousand words. But still:  words.

Discovered something unexpected about my MC’s father.

I also didn’t get any work done on my HTWAN lessons. I’ve got to get that going again.
